Who Am I?

A daughter.  A sister.  A wife.  A mother.  A founder.  A coach. A mentor. A child of God.

Here are snapshots of my journey in raising a family while releasing it all to God through each season of work and life. I started this journal when I was pregnant with #1 (born November 2011) and working full time.  After maternity leave, I left the corporate world for three years to focus on the baby boy and my aging parents who eventually moved in with us.  From years spent managing launches and marketing products, I transitioned to managing a larger household with the very young and old at home, developing The Whiz Times (an online kids media portal, launched October 2012) and CRIB (a social enterprise by and for women entrepreneurs, launched September 2014).  Although I struggled to pause my corporate career then, it turned out to be the best decision for the family and me.  When things stabilised, I then returned to full time work in late 2014 and enrolled #1 in all day childcare.

Both hubby and I come from larger families, and we had always imagined having more than one child. However, we unfortunately faced secondary infertility for many years.  We tried many different solutions but alas, all of them failed, and I went through three (known) miscarriages since #1. And then, in the midst of working from home and home based learning during COVID-19, we were blessed with an unexpected opportunity to adopt.  And so we warmly welcomed #2, a beautiful baby boy (born June 2020) who has enlarged our hearts and our family in so many ways.  Truly, God directs our steps — according to His own purposes and timing!

Along the way, I’ve been encouraged by those who have gone before and are journeying with me. With this blog, I hope to support others by sharing some memories and insights as we navigate the ups and downs of motherhood.   “He comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:4.
